Automatic Machine Data Collection/Monitoring
Real-time data at a glance
Monitor Your Machines!
This software is a must for any shop that wants to know their machine utilization. The Machine Event Monitoring™ system allows you to monitor the activity, and view reports, of each and every CNC machine in your shop from your company intranet or the internet from anywhere in the world.
Multi-DNC’s Machine Data Collection/Monitoring automatically tracks what your CNC Machines are doing in real time. You can see what state your CNC Machines are in, track your jobs and CNC operator performance per shift.

- Shows Machines grouped by their State - which Machines are Running, Waiting, in Alarm, or Idle
- Click a Machine in the State area on the left, Detailed Status is displayed on the right
- Graphically show Utilization % and Performance % for the current shift
- Displays which CNC Operator is logged in, what program is running, how many parts have been produced and their average production times
- Shift performance shows CNC Operator productivity per shift
A full suite of monitoring reports are included with the Machine Data Collection/Monitoring package (no need to purchase add-on reporting software. e.g. crystal reports).
- Production Summary – Production times for Cycle, Idle, Spindle,
Alarm and parts count
- Production Details – Graphic display of Machine & Spindle Utilization
plus per cycle detail
- Production Worksheet – Good/scrap parts and downtime reasons -
generated at shift end
- Year to Date Utilization – Utilization of a Group of CNC Machines for
the entire year to date
- CNC Operator Login History – Which CNC Operators have logged in and when
- Alarm History – How many Alarms have occurred and when
- Detailed and Compact Cell Utilization – Graphic Utilization of Machine Groups
View reports on your company intranet or anywhere in the world over the Internet.

In order to use Machine Data Collection, you must first have a Multi-DNC system connected to your CNC Machine Tools. This is the basic required foundation for Machine Data Collection, which will work with any type of CNC Control, old or new. Spectrum WiBox units are mounted internally in your CNC Controls and are connected to the CNC Controllers I/O signals. We monitor Power ON/OFF, Cycle ON/OFF, Spindle ON/OFF, Feed Hold ON/OFF, and CNC Alarms. The CNC Operator just runs their parts normally, all Machine Monitoring data is gathered in the background and written to a SQL database. A Part information database organizes your company's specific parts and is set up for Approved Cycle times and history logging of when your parts were produced.

Escalating Machine Alerts
Configure up to three levels of escalation. If the 1st person does not respond to the Alert within a set time, then additional messages are triggered automatically to the next level of management. No more flashing red lights that get ignored!
Configuration Manager – Sets up Monitoring parameters
- Shift Hours – Set up Shift hours for your shop
- Breaktimes – Set up break times and lunch times for your shop personnel
- CNC Operators – Set up employee log-in information, name, Employee ID & picture
- Performance – Set up Target # of parts per shift and performance thresholds
Part Database – Part Run history
- Organizes your company's parts plus the CNC programs associated with them. Keeps a history of part production information.
- Displays a solid model graphic or digital picture of part
- Displays a wireframe backplot of the CNC program
- Shows Part Information-Part Number, Approved Cycle Time, Revision # and any comments related to the part
- Shows Preferred CNC Machine to run the part on
- Shows CNC Program information-location, name, size and last modification to NC program
Machine Alerts
You will be notified of a break in Production caused by a Machine Alarm by e-mail, pager, or text message to your cell phone.
Machine Data Collection/Monitoring by Spectrum helps you manage your three most important resources, CNC Machines, Parts and People. Improve your manufacturing processes by having accurate, real time data to make informed decisions.
